Dust explosions
Adinex N.V. disposes of advanced equipment to measure dust explosion characteristics. The procedures applied for the explosion tests are based on the European standards, the VDI Richtlinien VDI 2263 Blatt 1: "Untersuchungsmethoden zur Ermittlung von sicherheitstechnischen Kenngrössen von Stäuben" (1990) and on the instructions of the manufacturer of the test equipment.
The test equipment is used for research in the area of industrial safety. The test methods described in the diagram below refer to the standard tests. Specific test methods corresponding to client needs can be considered.
Tests
- Screening test by means of the modified Hartmann-apparatus (01)
- Explosibility by means of a 20 litre-sphere (02)
- The minimum ignition energy (MIE) by means of the modified Hartmann-apparatus (10)
- The minimum ignition temperature (MIT) of airborne dust by means of the BAM-oven (11)
- The smoulder temperature of a dust layer (12)
- The combustibility of powders (Ciba-Geigy method) (13)
- The relative auto-ignition temperature in an air stream (Grewer) (14)
- The exotherme auto-ignition temperature in the mini-autoclave (15)
- The limiting oxygen concentration by means of a 20 litre-sphere (17)
- Determination of the particle size distribution (22)
- The electrical resistivity of a powder (24)
